Reshma, 
In our regression plan, lots of distribution's default gcc version are < 4.9. 
This patch will block gcc related test on the OSs listed below. 

Ubuntu 12.04/14.04
Fedora18/20
Suse11SP2/Suse12SP3
RHEL7.0/7.2, CentOS7.0
FreeBSD10.0/10.3
