Release Dates
-------------

* v19.02 dates:
  * RC2 released on Monday, January 14
  * RC3 planned on Friday, January 18
  * RC4 planned on Friday, January 25
  * Release: Friday, February 1, 2019

* v19.05 proposal:
  * v19.05 is approaching and it is expected to be a big release,
    we can start discussing dates based on following proposal:

  * Proposal Deadline: Friday, 1 March
  * RC1: Friday, 29 March
  * Release: Friday, 10 May
  * 8 weeks prev release to rc1, 6 weeks rc1 to release

  * Some historical data from 17.05 & 18.05 appended to the bottom
    to help discussion [1]

  * Contributors please provide 19.05 roadmap whenever available


RC3 deadline
------------

* RC3 is planned this Friday (tomorrow)!
* There will be small number of changes, nothing major.


Subtrees

* main
  * Not many patches are waiting (< 20)
  * Ferruh will help reviewing Intel FPGA bus patches

* next-net
  * Only a few patches merged, will be ready for Friday
  * Pulled from next-net-intel & next-net-mlx
  * Will pull from next-net-virtio today

* next-virtio
  * There will be patches for rc3, will be ready today

* next-crypto
 * There are some patches waiting for merge
 * Compress unit tests are waiting
 * Akhil will not able to available for some time
   * Thomas will get patches, Pablo will support on reviews

* next-eventdev
* next-pipeline
* next-qos
  * No update, we need attendance from maintainers

* Stable trees
  * No stable release has been released after v18.11,
    v16.11.9, v17.11.5, v18.11.1, v18.08.1, all are waiting. Some released rc
    but waiting for testing
  * Will discuss with Qian (Intel test team lead) the stable tree testing plan
  * If testing blocked we need to find a way as community to unblock stable
    releases


Bugzilla
--------

* Intel is pulling defects from Bugzilla
* Still overall defect number is increasing
* Should we push harder for fixes?


OvS
---

* 2.11 branching pushed from Tuesday to Friday
* Port represontor support patch has been sent, new version expected
  * Ian working on verifying them with ixgbe & i40e
* Requested from DPDK to document port represontor better
  * Requested to backport this documentation update to 18.11.x

The DPDK Release Status Meeting is intended for DPDK Committers to discuss
the status of the master tree and sub-trees, and for project managers to
track progress or milestone dates.

The meeting occurs on Thursdays at 8:30 UTC. If you wish to attend just
send an email to "John McNamara <john.mcnamara at intel.com>" for the invite.
