Minutes

=====================================================================
General Announcements

* DPDK User Space Summit is next week, September 6-8. Virtual registration
is free.

=====================================================================
CI Status

---------------------------------------------------------------------
UNH-IOL Community Lab

* Starting to develop SOW and work plans for 2023.
* New container definitions have been created and are being used, but
automated refresh jobs still need to be put in place. Similarly, we will
need to merge these into the dpdk-ci repo, along with the scripts that run
the jobs inside the container.
* Tech board answer about DPDK supported operating systems, only test
in-support distros. Drop support for EOL distros or distros older than 5
years. Some more discussion in the community is underway. Focus needs to
be on two key items, distro used in DPDK deployments (typically RHEL and
Ubuntu), and second is support testing with latest tool sets (i.e. new GCC,
etc.). The list below, is the starting point for the email discussion:
   * CentOs Stream
   * Arch
   * RHEL - RHEL 7 is an exception to the 5 year rule
   * Ubuntu
   * OpenSuse LEAP
   * Debian
   * Fedora - Last 2 + Rawhide
   * Alpine
   * FreeBSD, latest version, since there isn’t direct user input
   * Windows
* OpenSSL patch is accepted, but doesn’t look to be merged into the git
yet, once merged, we can enable the openSSL tests. This is blocking
enabling the OpenSSL unit testing request from the community:
https://patchwork.dpdk.org/project/dpdk/list/?series=23985
* Dell server, traffic generator for ampere Altra aarch64 test bed, is
still down, pending a hardware replacement being handled through the Dell
warranty (which arm holds).

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Intel Lab

* No updates.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Github Actions

* System is running into timeouts on building OVS on DPDK latest, when all
the drivers are enabled, because no caching is currently used for this
process.
* There was a minor outage a couple of weeks ago, but everything should be
recovered now and reporting up.
* Michael has been working on the upgrade path for the zero-day robot,
scripts are ready and have been tested. Waiting for an upgrade opportunity
and will notify the community when this is planned.

=====================================================================
DTS Improvements & Test Development

* Planning to start merging the DTS WG discussions into this meeting slot,
to help increase the visibility of the DTS efforts within the community.
Honnappa will discuss this with the DTS group during their next meeting.

=====================================================================
Any other business

* Next meeting: September 15, 2022
