# DPDK Patch Review

## PATCH 1/3: net/e1000/base: add new PCH MAC type

### Correctness

No correctness issues identified. The patch adds a new MAC type `e1000_pch_nvp` and moves NVL device IDs from `e1000_pch_ptp` to it. All switch statements and conditionals that handled `e1000_pch_ptp` have been updated to also handle `e1000_pch_nvp`.

### Style and Process

No style or process issues.

## PATCH 2/3: net/e1000/base: retry failed MTA writes on i210/i211

### Errors

**Resource leak on error path in `e1000_i21x_mta_workaround()`:**

The function calls `E1000_WRITE_FLUSH(hw)` inside the loop after each failed register rewrite attempt. If the loop breaks due to `failed_cnt` exhaustion, the final set of register writes may not be flushed. While `e1000_update_mc_addr_list_generic()` calls `E1000_WRITE_FLUSH(hw)` after the workaround returns, the logic in the workaround itself is incomplete: it writes registers inside the loop but only flushes the ones that were just rewritten. If multiple registers fail across iterations, earlier rewrites may not be flushed before the next iteration checks them.

**Suggested fix:**

Move `E1000_WRITE_FLUSH(hw)` to immediately after the inner `for` loop that performs rewrites, before checking `is_failed` again. This ensures all rewrites in an iteration are flushed before the next read-back check:

```c
static void e1000_i21x_mta_workaround(struct e1000_hw *hw)
{
	int failed_cnt = 3;
	bool is_failed;
	int i;
	do {
		is_failed = false;
		for (i = hw->mac.mta_reg_count - 1; i >= 0; i--) {
			if (E1000_READ_REG_ARRAY(hw, E1000_MTA, i) !=
			    hw->mac.mta_shadow[i]) {
				is_failed = true;
				E1000_WRITE_REG_ARRAY(hw, E1000_MTA, i,
						      hw->mac.mta_shadow[i]);
			}
		}
		E1000_WRITE_FLUSH(hw);
		if (is_failed && --failed_cnt <= 0) {
			DEBUGOUT("Failed to update MTA register, too many retries\n");
			break;
		}
	} while (is_failed);
}
```

## PATCH 3/3: net/e1000/base: enable ULP on LANPHYPC

### Correctness

No correctness issues identified. The patch sets an additional bit (`I218_ULP_CONFIG1_EN_ULP_LANPHYPC`) in the ULP configuration register to enable ULP entry via LANPHYPC.

### Style and Process

No style or process issues.
