DPDK and O-RAN Wls Wireless Service Library

Hi David,

The 2 LTS versions are not compatible.
Some API/ABI were changed, and some libs were renamed. Some libs are disabled by default in the build or even removed.
Please refer to the release note on DPDK.org.

Why don't you use the recommend LTS v20.11? End of support?

I am trying to build and test the O-RAN Wls Wireless Service Library which requires DPDK v20.11.3. I am using dpdk-stable-23.11.1.

When building the Wls test application the build fails with errors about missing DPDK libraries, for example:

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -l:librte_common_octeontx2.a: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -l:librte_mempool_octeontx2.a: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -l:librte_net_bnx2x.a: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -l:librte_net_kni.a: No such file or directory

I do not see those missing libraries in DPDK's build/lib/ directory.

Is this because I am using an incompatible version of DPDK? Or have I built DPDK without necessary options? Or without a necessary patch?

I would be grateful for any advice please.
