Especially the first patch in the series, which updates the Client API receive functions to behave like recv() and return the response payload size on success, instead of returning 0 on success.

Without this update, variable size replies are not properly supported by the Client API, but would require the message payload to have a payload size field (which is redundant, because the payload size is already conveyed in the message header).
