Hi,

FYI, your patch has been queued to stable release 24.11.9

Note it hasn't been pushed to http://dpdk.org/browse/dpdk-stable yet.
It will be pushed if I get no objections before 10/29/26. So please
shout if anyone has objections.

Also note that after the patch there's a diff of the upstream commit vs the
patch applied to the branch. This will indicate if there was any rebasing
needed to apply to the stable branch. If there were code changes for rebasing
(ie: not only metadata diffs), please double check that the rebase was
correctly done.

Queued patches are on a temporary branch at:
https://github.com/bluca/dpdk-stable

This queued commit can be viewed at:
https://github.com/bluca/dpdk-stable/commit/8a8a23cd75ca8410b9295cb511e7046a616b5afe

Thanks.

Luca Boccassi

Subject: [PATCH] examples/vhost: remove unused variables

[ upstream commit a7a67def7bd5e82c311d330f768a712f6613313b ]

The vhost example tracks number of queues but never uses the
variables. Remove num_queues and the num_vmdq_queues intermediate
that only fed it.

clang 23 reports:
vhost/main.c:86:17: error: variable 'num_queues' set but not used
         [-Werror,-Wunused-but-set-global]

Fixes: 84b02d16c539 ("examples/vhost: support new VMDQ API for i40e")
